Sumo Group is one of the UK\u2019s largest providers of creative and development services to the video games and entertainment industries, delivering full-service visual and development solutions from initial concepts to production and development and post-release support. The company announces its largest acquisitions to date, with a $100 million deal for the US-based developer Pipeworks Inc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 1999, Pipeworks is a co-development studio with a big list of industry partners. The company has shipped close to 100 games\u00a0including\u00a0Prominence Poker, EA Sports Madden NFL series, ReLogic’s Terraria, and projects for Wizards of the Coast. It\u00a0generated\u00a0$19.4m revenue\u00a0in the year ended 30th\u00a0June 2020, with\u00a0an underlying adjusted EBITDA of $4.2m.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this acquisition, Sumo Group will have a significant presence on the West Coast of the US with a Pipeworks additional team of 134 to the total Sumo Group workforce, which is now just short of 1,000 people worldwide.
