The UK-based studio is a subsidiary of the Tonic Games Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Epic Games and Mediatonic didn&#8217;t release any details of the merger. Still, the two gaming companies reassured everyone concerned that there won&#8217;t be any changes for the game&#8217;s players on PlayStation or PC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a post, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesround.com\/blog\/epic-games-stores-160m-users-spent-700m-in-2020\" title=\"Epic Games Store\u2019s 160M Users Spent $700M in 2020\">Fortnite<\/a> and Unreal Engine developer said the game&#8217;s multiplatform compatibility would remain unchanged, and &#8220;Epic will continue to invest in making the game a great experience for players across platforms.&#8221; The studio also said the Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will soon be available for the Nintendo Switch and Xbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s no secret that Epic is invested in building the metaverse, and Tonic Games shares this goal,&#8221; said Epic Games CEO and founder Tim Sweeney. &#8220;As Epic works to build this virtual future, we need great creative talent who know how to build powerful games, content and experiences.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Paul Croft, the chief games officer of Mediatonic&#8217;s parent company Tonic Games Group, acknowledges that this partnership with Epic Games will help his company grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>&#8220;Beyond the shared vision among our teams, we see tremendous potential in combining forces with Epic,&#8221; said Paul Croft. &#8220;Whether it&#8217;s about making our own games the best they can be or empowering other game developers to take their content from a kernel of an idea to commercial success, we know that together we will be able to reach greater heights.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Tonic Games Group CEO and co-founder Dave Bailey also released a statement following the takeover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;At Tonic Games Group, we often say that everyone deserves a game that feels like it was made for them,&#8221; Bailey commented. &#8220;With Epic, we feel like we have found a home that was made for us. They share our mission to build and support games that have a positive impact, empower others and stand the test of time, and we couldn&#8217;t be more excited to be joining forces with their team.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Epic Games isn&#8217;t a newcomer on the M&amp;A front. In recent years, the company is pursuing its ambition of acquiring technology-focused companies instead of game studios that will help it with the development of its Unreal Engine.
