{"id":4391,"date":"2021-09-27T11:33:03","date_gmt":"2021-09-27T18:33:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gamesround.com\/blog\/?p=4391"},"modified":"2021-10-24T04:00:34","modified_gmt":"2021-10-24T11:00:34","slug":"fuzzybot-secures-3-5m-in-seed-funding-to-develop-co-op-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gamesround.com\/blog\/fuzzybot-secures-3-5m-in-seed-funding-to-develop-co-op-games","title":{"rendered":"FuzzyBot Secures $3.5M In Seed Funding To Develop Co-Op Games"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>New indie game developer FuzzyBot has announced that it raised $3.5 million in a seed funding round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The financing round was attended by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesround.com\/blog\/starform-secures-5m-in-funding-to-develop-debut-game\" title=\"Starform Secures $5M In Funding To Develop Debut Game\">BitKraft Ventures<\/a>, 1Up Ventures, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesround.com\/blog\/resolution-games-secures-25m-at-series-c-funding-round\" title=\"Resolution Games Secures $25M At Series C Funding Round\">Sisu Game Ventures<\/a>, where BitKraft Ventures led the round.&nbsp; Sisu Game Ventures previously invested in Finland-based studio <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesround.com\/blog\/zynga-acquires-golf-rival-developer-starlark-for-525m\" title=\"Zynga Acquires Golf Rival Developer StarLark For $525M\">Small Giant Games<\/a>, which was later bought by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesround.com\/blog\/zynga-acquires-golf-rival-developer-starlark-for-525m\" title=\"Zynga Acquires Golf Rival Developer StarLark For $525M\">Zynga<\/a> in January 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>&#8220;The games industry is notorious for its inflexible high-crunch culture, and we are determined to chart a new path in how our company operates and brings games to market,&#8221; said Dyshlova. &#8220;We value the collaborative speed that comes from working within a small team and look to capitalize on the benefits that a remote studio can provide.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>FuzzyBot is an independent developer based in Los Angeles, founded by former Electronic Arts (EA) executives Tatyana Dyshlova and Max Spielberg. Dyshlova worked as a lead producer, and Spielberg was the design director at EA. Dyshlova now serves as the CEO, whereas Spielberg is the creative director of the studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The founders stated they quit developing AAA titles to &#8220;chase the indie dream&#8221; and make games that everyone can play together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>Malte Barth, the founder general partner of BitKraft Ventures, commented: &#8220;It&#8217;s evident that the FuzzyBot team has transferred their synergy from EA to the new studio. Their proven ability to grow a world-class development team will be invaluable as they collaborate to tap into a cross-genre market opportunity.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The company said that the money would be used to develop its first co-operative game and expand the development team.&nbsp; FuzzyBot states that its debut title will be a &#8220;co-operative game that blends combat and progression elements of the Roguelite and Life Sim genres.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A representative for FuzzyBot announced that the company will be focusing on publishing games primarily for the Nintendo Switch platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FuzzyBot is among the new studios that have recently started raising money and getting into co-op game development in Los Angeles.
