A mobile version of Kards is our most common player request, and we\u2019re very excited to now be able to deliver on this in the coming months.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The financing round was attended by various VC firms, including Crowberry Capital, Korea Investment Partners, Seoul Investment Partners, Woori Technology Invest, and Sisu Game Ventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brainchild of two brothers, \u00cdvar Kristj\u00e1nsson and Gu\u00f0mundur Kristjansson, 1939 Games was founded in 2015. \u00cdvar serves as the CEO of the studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sang-Ho Park, Executive Director of Korea Investment Partners (KIP), commented: \u201cKards is a fantastically well-made game due to the pedigree of the team behind it. Our investment reflects our strong belief in the team as well as the title\u2019s huge potential when it comes to mobile in the Asian market.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u201cWe are happy to follow up on our early investment as the 1939 team has proven its ability to build a stellar game. We are impressed by how they combine their artistic ability with industry insight and an innovative approach to digital card gaming. With such a great addition to the team of investors, the future is very exciting.\u201d said Hekla Arnardottir, founding partner at Crowberry Capital and chairman of the 1939 Games board.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>1939 Games said the money will be used to self-publish Kards on mobile devices and realize the studio\u2019s vision of developing original cross-platform games. Kards is set in a WWII setting, where players build card decks and execute strategies to win. The game is currently available only on PC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is 1939 Games\u2019 second fundraising event.
