Hong Kong-based social mobile game publisher 6Waves<\/a> has announced that the Stillfront Group<\/a> will acquire it for $201 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stillfront said the acquisition would be paid out in cash 92% of the time, with the remaining 8% payable in new shares. The deal includes acquiring the 34.8 percent stake once owned by Nexon for $93 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stillfront CEO J\u00f6rgen Larsson commented: “We are very excited to be able to welcome 6Waves to the Stillfront family. Stillfront has a long and proven history of developing and publishing evergreen strategy games, and 6Waves’ titles fit perfectly into our portfolio. Expanding our presence in East Asia and, specifically, Japan has been a strategic priority for Stillfront, and we are happy that we have found such a talented team to help us on that journey. 6Waves has built a very strong reputation as the leading publisher of strategy games in the Japanese market, and we cannot wait to work closer with them as a part of Stillfront.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

6Waves said its non-core games portfolio has been divested and won’t be a part of the transaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Tokyo-based publisher Nexon<\/a> announced that it will sell its 34.8 percent stake in 6Waves for $93 million to Stillfront Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Stillfront took over the mobile strategy game Rise of Firstborn from Netmarble Corporation<\/a> for an unknown sum last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
