Tilting Point<\/a> announced it closed a deal to acquire a majority stake in Korea-based game developer AN Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the acquisition, Tilting Point plans to expand and promote the studio’s successful games portfolio. As per the transaction, AN Games will operate independently and is currently working on new games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tilting Point added that the acquisition provides it access to Asian markets via AN Games’ publishing expertise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samir Agili, co-CEO and president of Tilting Point, said, “The first step as a publisher is to prove to the developer you can make a difference. By the time we do the acquisition, we already know each other very well, and we work together in a certain way. Following the acquisition, that’s not going to change.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Korean game development company also aims to develop its operations by increasing its user base, enhancing live services, and expanding to additional platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hwan-gi Kim, CEO of AN Games, said in a statement: “Arriving at a co-development stage has been a natural progression of our relationship. We admire and trust the Tilting Point expertise and look forward to being able to grow our studio’s impact even further.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

AN Games is a successful games developer for more than 20 years and has created and published games such as Astrokings, AstroNest: The Beginning, and Astro & Girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is Tilting Point’s first high-profile acquisition since it secured $235 million in 2021. The company follows a “progressive publishing” approach, in which it collaborates with developers to expand its customer base over time. Said that Tilting Point partnered with AN Games to expand AstroKings in January 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, Ant Workshop<\/a>, an indie video game developer based in Edinburgh, announced that it had received a seven-figure investment from Chroma Ventures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ant Workshop said it intends to use the money to develop its concept game, Dungeon Golf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
