Zynga<\/a> and its subsidiary Rollic<\/a> announced it had completed the acquisition of NanoTribe, a German hypercasual mobile game developer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the agreement, NanoTribe will join Rollic’s ever-growing roster of hypercasual game developers. Additionally, the Berlin-based studio will also be the first company outside of Turkey to be managed by Rollic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2017, NanoTribe specializes in hypercasual titles. The studio previously released games with Rollic, including Cashier 3D, which has surpassed more than 33 million downloads worldwide. It also published the 2021 hit, Arrow Fest. Under the acquisition, NanoTribe will continue creating original mobile games under the Rollic brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The start-up mentality and passion of the team behind NanoTribe is a great match for our path forward at Rollic, and we are excited to welcome their titles and talents to our growing family of innovative developers,” said Rollic co-founder Burak Vardal. “Our focus is on building an engaging global portfolio of games and finding great talent whose vision is in-line with our goal to create fun, accessible and engaging content for our users.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The deal reverberates Rollic’s rapid worldwide expansion following the 2021 purchases of Turkey-based mobile studios ByteTyper, Creasaur Entertainment, ZeroSum, and Uncosoft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rollic’s success in the space helped Zynga keep its position as a top-three downloaded games publisher in the United States in 2021\u2014 thanks to the popularity of hyper-casual gaming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rollic has already surpassed one billion total downloads worldwide with 16 games that have achieved the #1 or #2 top free downloaded game positions in the United States. These remarkable feats have cemented Rollic’s position as one of the world’s leading hyper-casual game publishers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other acquisition news, Take-Two Interactive<\/a> announced in January that it intended to buy FarmVille creator Zynga for $12.7 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, Nacon<\/a> has snapped up Midgar Studio, the creators of Edge of Eternity, for an undisclosed price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
