The merger aims to reinforce Kabam&#8217;s ability to compete in the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Netmarble acquired Kabam, the developer of Marvel Contest of Champions, in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the merger, the president of Netmarble US, Simon Sim, will become the new chief operations officer at Kabam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>&#8220;I am very excited about this unification where we can bring together the expertise and resources of the two world-class mobile game sibling companies,&#8221; said Kabam CEO Seungwon Lee. &#8220;After the merger, Kabam will have the scale and enhanced capabilities to excel in game publishing and compete more effectively in today&#8217;s ever-changing market. I also believe that this merger will create synergies in the long run and expand the company&#8217;s publishing opportunities. We will continue to foster a culture of empowering passionate creators to build incredible game experiences that entertain players around the world.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Sim will lead the operations division of the developer, as well as the studios in Acadia and Montreal. Furthermore, he will also oversee the operations of Netmarble&#8217;s Los Angeles-based studio and manage Kung Fu Factory, a subsidiary of Netmarble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An acclaimed business leader, Sim has spent more than 25 years researching artificial intelligence and programming software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I am excited to be joining the Kabam team and appreciate their passion for creating games to entertain the world.
