On February 24, Menlo Park, California-based BebopBee has revealed that it landed $2 million in a funding round to further its aim of developing the “next generation of match-3 puzzle games”. The studio is behind the mobile game, ‘What a Wonderful World.’

BebopBee said it will use the investment to acquire more users to its game and improve its live ops. The funding round was participated by several VCs, including Bitkraft Ventures, IGG Inc., 1Up Ventures, as well as Lei Ding, and Rohit Singal, founders of Dfinity and Machine.ai, respectively.

Scott Rupp, a founding partner of Bitkraft Ventures, showed confidence in BebopBee’s future ambitions. “BebopBee has perfected the art of creating immersive, emotive, and highly-shareable experiences with their What a Wonderful World mobile game, with players engaged for almost an hour a day,” said Scott Rupp. “We believe the team has created a game that has top-10 grossing potential with truly innovative marketability options.”

The ‘What a Wonderful World’ is a match-three puzzle game, where the backdrops are from great major cities of the world such as New York, Tokyo, and Moscow.

According to BebopBee’s CEO, Rajeev Nagpal, ‘What A Wonderful World’ is a fun game that brings people together and discovers the world around us. The game focuses on the joys of traveling and is unique and different from other match-3 puzzle games.

BebopBee hopes to feature more new tourist destinations and residents of the cities. Furthermore, the studio is planning to collaborate with content creators and influencers to add more user-generated content to its gameplay as well.
