Lila Games raises $2.8m in seed funding

The funding will be used to open an office in Bangalore and hire more staff across all disciplines, including game design, art, development and product management.

India-based mobile game studio Lila Games was founded by: Joseph Kim, a former chief product officer at Sega; alongside former FunPlus lead game designer Paul Leydon, and Y Combinator alum Avinash Pandey. The company is creating a free-to-play mobile shooters and currently working on a mobile free-to-play shooter game codenamed Project B.L.A.C.K.

Now an India-based mobile developer announces it has secured $2.8 million during its seed financing round led by Bitkraft Ventures with participation from Galaxy Interactive and game industry angel investors including Mike Sherrill, cofounder of Machine Zone; Kristian Segerstrale, the CEO of Super Evil Megacorp; and Ludovic Bodin, a former CEO of early mobile shooter maker Cmune.
