In a public statement out today, Sony states that the Burbank-based studio will be the fourteenth studio to join Sony Interactive Entertainment, following a 20-year relationship that delivered select games running from Spyro the Dragon to Marvel's Spider-Man.
Per the public statement, it seems Insomniac will concentrate on PlayStation-selective games going ahead. As Sony Interactive Entertainment executive Shawn Layden states, "the expansion of Insomniac Games to SIE WWS emphasizes our responsibility to creating world class gaming encounters that must be found on the PlayStation stage."
In an announcement on Insomniac Games' site, studio CEO and originator Ted Price expresses that joining Sony "reaches out a long ways past commonality. Our studio vision is to make encounters that have a constructive and enduring effect on individuals' lives. As we look forward to our future, we realize that joining the WWS family gives us the best chances to completely accomplish that vision on an a lot bigger scale."
