Turkey-based mobile games developer and publisher Hadi raised $5.2 million in a seed funding round.

Griffin Gaming Partners led the funding round. Additional investments came from several prominent angel investors, including Akin Babayigit (co-founder of Tripledot and an investor at Dream Games).

The studio said it will use the money to expedite its development of casual games for mobile devices. Hadi is thrilled to be associated with such a distinguished group of experienced investors and entrepreneurs who share its enthusiasm for the future of the mobile games sector.

“Having seen the industry grow over the last decade, especially in Turkey, we are excited to contribute to the growth and evolution of mobile gaming. The relationships and experience our benefactors bring are just as valuable to us as any financial bottom line,” said Hadi CEO Mark Muller.

In the last few years, Turkey-based companies have been making waves in mobile gaming. Hadi is among many mobile game developers to get off the ground in recent years.

One of the co-founders and current CEO, Mark Muller, was a former Creative Director at Gram Games, the developer of Merge Dragons. The company is fully remote, and the team consists of ex-Gram employees.

Phil Sanderson, managing director at Griffin Gaming Partners, commented: “Turkey is a key geographic focus for Griffin, and the Hadi team has the ideal experience and drive in the mobile gaming market to succeed.”

Hadi wants to enable innovation in full-scale casual mobile games by leveraging the team’s prior experience creating and publishing hypercasual games.

Hadi is currently developing several unannounced games, as well as recruiting for numerous key positions within the company.
